Dean van't Schip was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. His appreciation for the beauty and biodiversity of this unique area comes through in his nature and fine art photography.

High Resolution Land and Seascapes, Forest Impressions, Wildlife Studies and Intimate Details of Nature are all captured through his lenses.

"My Father was the first person to get me interested in Nature  Photography and I had my first camera at the age of 8. In my teen years I mentored under a family friend who taught me how to use the Hasselblad Camera system and make Cibachrome prints in his home lab. I always had a camera with me and in my mid 20's I met my wife who was a Conservator of Acrylic and Tempura Paintings. We would often have paintings in her home studio by Artists of The Group of Seven, Lawren Harris, Jack Shadbolt and many more. We had 2 beautiful children together before she suddenly passed away and now over a dozen years later I'm with my new love who is equally supportive of my efforts. I thank my family, these key people and a long list of others I've met along the way for their support and encouragement that keeps me exploring nature through the Art of Photography."

"I'm very excited about my Forest Impression Series. It is an ongoing exploration of the beauty and soul of our Forests. I include motion in many of these images in an attempt to capture the true essence of these magnificent life forms."

His work is also featured in the book "The Sunshine Coast" by Howard White, Harbour Publishing and many of his images have been used worldwide in publications, books, calendars and magazines over the past 30 years. Dean is a Contributor to the Photo Stock Agency All Canada Photos.

His photography has been shown in many exhibitions here on the Sunshine Coast and he continues to pursue his passions for Nature and Art through Photography.
