Forest Impression, Edge of ClearingWinter is a great time for photography, especially landscapes. I captured this Forest Impression using the vertical panning technique with a slow shutter speed on the slopes of Mount Elphinstone above Roberts Creek here on the Sunshine Coast. The snow in the background added some reflected fill-light, creating more contrast on the trees and a bit more detail on the forest floor. I'm pleased with the way the vertical lines and bark texture of the trees carry the eye down the trunks and into the earthy tones of the underbrush.
